Renee de la Prade grew up in rural northern California, reading a lot of books, especially ones with fantastic universes and penetrating scientific and philosophical insights. As an adult she has made her mark as a musician and as the editor of the Accordion Babes Pin-up Calendar. She currently lives in Hamburg, Germany with her husband and bandmate Ingo Brauning. She tours with the Americana band Whiskey & Women, also with the zydeco/rock duo Rebel Lovers and with the ever-changing-variety-musical act which is the Accordion Babes. She speaks English and French well, German and Spanish badly. She loves to teach diatonic instruments and basic guitar technique and spent ten years as a part-time musical instrument repair technician, learning the ins-and-outs of accordions and guitars.
